My Qualifications
I spent my formative years in the Catholic education system in New York City. This is where I learned self-discipline and basic writing skills. I studied Performing Arts at Alfred University in the north of the state, completing a BA with a Theatre concentration. After five years working in theater in New York, I decided to pursue NYS teacher certification in Social Studies at CUNY-Lehman College. It wasn´t until 2003 that I found a Master´s program that suited my needs. I had been working with HS students in what was then called ¨correspondence programs¨ when I began an MA in Adult Education and Distance Learning. I recently completed Level 1 of the Google Educator program, further enhancing my online teaching skills.
About me
I am a seasoned educator with a 21st century skill-set. Success in teaching and learning comes from connections and that is my specialty. My areas of expertise are English Language and Literature, Popular Culture, American History, Drama, and Creative Writing.
