I have been awarded the degree of Master of Arts with commendation in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages TESOL from Nottingham Trent university in England. In Addition, I received a BA in English Language and Literature from Aleppo University in Syria back in 2011.

I am highly motivated and passionate about learning and professional growth. Arabic is my native language and English is my second, so as a bilingual individual with a BA in English Language and Literature, and currently pursuing an MA TESOL at Nottingham Trent University, I possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. After receiving my BA in 2011 I worked as an English tutor for two years. At present, I volunteer as an English teacher with Refugee Roots Charity working with refugees. I started my voluntary job in October 2022. I teach English as a foreign language (EFL) to 10 to 15 refugees of different nationalities whose level of proficiency is pre-intermediate. I have a rule of thumb in the teaching profession which is when learners' needs are known learners' goals could be achieved. So, first of all I try to know what my learner wants, lacks and what their necessities are. Then I choose and adapt materials that suit their needs. I always like to ask my learners what topics they would like to learn in order to make the lesson more interesting and engaging for them. I am fond of the Direct Approach which is based on teaching the target language in a communicative method where the first language of the learners is not used in class in order to encourage students to use the target language as much as they can and to make the learning process of the language more natural. As I said before, it depends on the learners' needs to follow specific teaching method and techniques.
