I am a highly motivated and well-qualified professional who has been dealing with Languages and Literature for over 14 years. I am currently a PhD candidate at UERJ and a visiting scholar at the University of Kent, where I conduct part of my doctoral research on Virginia Woolf's body of work. I hold a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics (UFRJ) as well as a Bachelor's degree in English and Portuguese (UFRJ).

I have plenty of experience as a Language Teacher, Writer, Translator, Reviser and Researcher.

I have been dealing with Languages and Literature since 2007, when I started my undergrad studies in English and Portuguese at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).

In 2009, I had my first opportunities as an English teacher, working simultaneously at two different language schools: Sociedade Brasileira de Cultura Inglesa and Cursos de Línguas Abertos à Comunidade (CLAC/UFRJ). It was then that I developed my abilities as a teacher, besides having the chance to become familiar with the Communicative Approach for language teaching, which has proved quite effective as far as my experience goes.

After I got my Bachelor's degree in 2011, I taught English for three more years at Sociedade Brasileira de Cultura Inglesa before I decided to pursue a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics. Back then, I was pretty much interested in looking into gender related issues and their relationship with language.

In 2016, after writing my dissertation on discourses about masculinities in online forums, I finally got my Master's degree.

After that, in 2018, I started working at Serviço Social do Comércio (Sesc RJ), where I had the chance to create and customize materials to fit my teaching goals. I was allowed, and even encouraged, to prepare and implement workshops and seminars on Reading Strategies, Creative Writing and Grammar, for example. At the same time, I also worked for Faculdade Unyleya as an online English Tutor, and I was able to teach post-graduation level courses on a significant number of subjects such as Syntax, Morphology, Discourse Analysis, Reading, Writing and Translation of Literary Texts.

Finally, in 2020, I decided it was time to go back to school and started my PhD on English Literature at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), which has enabled me to come to the UK for six months to conduct part of my doctoral research on Virginia Woolf's fiction and its relationship with questions of gender expression at the University of Kent.

As you can see, I am a highly qualified and experienced professional who is always looking for a challenge - not to mention the fact that I am genuinely passionate about what I do.
