My Qualifications
I started my teaching career in 2014 after completing my 150-hour TEFL qualification (TEFL UK). Since then, I have continued to improve my skills and have taken several CPD courses (University of Southampton, British Council).
About me
I am a native English speaker from Britain. I love travelling and have lived in South Africa, France, and now Portugal. Over the past nine years, I have developed and refined my skills as a language teacher. I have taught a wide variety of people: complete beginners on a face-to-face basis, bankers and other professionals on Teams and other platforms, school-age children, and even large classes of university students. Learning French has helped me to appreciate the complexities of language acquisition and to develop empathy. I have come to understand that one of the most important aspects of the learning process is emotion. We can only learn well in an environment where we feel comfortable and encouraged. This is the kind of relaxed atmosphere that I strive to create for my students, and the results are sometimes magical!
