My Qualifications
I have a degree in Social Communication with a major in Journalism and a degree in English. I worked as a journalist in the press office of the city hall in my hometown of Maceió, in northeast Brazil. I wrote articles for the municipality's official gazette, laid out newsletters and covered events and meetings photographically. In 2010, I took a course in English Language Teaching and Learning offered by the Faculty of Letters of the Federal University of Alagoas and took my first step towards teaching English to a wide range of audiences, from children to adults. I currently have 10 years' experience in the classroom, certification in English level C1 (advanced) and in English Language Teaching for Foreign Speakers (CELTA), both issued by the University of Cambridge.

My name is Cynthia Ferreira Lucas Barbosa, I am based in Lisbon, Portugal. I currently have 10 years' experience in the classroom, certification in English level C1 (advanced) and in English Language Teaching for Foreign Speakers (CELTA), both issued by the University of Cambridge. I have always tried to combine English language teaching with the most diverse visual resources possible, as I consider myself a visual learner and have always considered the use of resources such as slideshows, videos, images and illustrations to be important allies in my teaching practice. In this way, visual and technological resources have been present in my classes to make them fun and engaging. Will you join me on this learning adventure?
