Choice

Hello, My Name is Choice Nyamakura. I am 27years old. I was born in Zimbabwe but I grew up in South Africa. I completed both my High School and University studies in Cape Town. Being born in Zimbabwe and raised in South Africa has shown me the importance of speaking and understanding English, as those who are unable to fail to rise within society. Being someone who has had the opportunity to learn multiple languages while growing up, I feel that it is only fitting that I pass on my knowledge onto others who may not have the same exposure as I had while growing up. I have a Bachelor's degree and both a Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages course and a Teaching English to Young Learners and Teenagers course. I discovered my passion for teaching when I was in my final year of High School tutoring younger students. Upon discovery of this passion I realized that I did not want to teach at a formal school. So I went on to University to study Law knowing that when I completed my degree I would then go on to study TESOL/TEYLT courses so that I could teach at language schools and online.

I have been teaching English for the past two years. My favorite thing about teaching ESL is that I get to meet new people from all over the world, learn about their culture, food they eat and pick up a word or two of whatever language they speak.
